Our media has always been super conservative in terms of entertainment or politics. Though now with a horde of channels coming in picture, it seems like it’s falling into place and our industry is finally a churning out some worth watching dramas. ARY Digital certainly knows how to hit the right chords and they delivered shows that broke the stereotype.

We’re all so used to of all the rom-coms and saas bahu khit phit that it seems almost impossible to find such shows, however these dramas have broken social taboos and the ideas were no doubt out of the box. How daring is that?

Chup Raho :

The hit drama serial raised the question of women sexual abuse. Sajjal Ali, Feroze Khan, Shaheen Khan and Jibran Syed flaunted some phenomenal acting skills in the show. The story revolves around Sajjal who is raped by her brother in law but is forced to stay shush as her confession will ruin her sisters marriage.

Besharam :

Another drama serial that made waves on social media and got everyone hooked was Besharam. Story is about Mishi who’s a super model and ties a knot with the political activist Haider. The tale focuses on how Pakistani models are labelled as the ‘corrupt women’ or they have a ‘bad character.’ This worth watching show is another addition to the list. The cast includes Saba Qamar and very talented Zahid Ahmed.

Khuda Mera Bhai Hai : 

With only three episodes gone on air, this drama has glued people to their TV screens! Starring – the gorgeous Ayesha Khan, Jibran Syed and Furqan Qureshi – Khud Mera Bhi Hai is about the third gender. How often do we avoid that topic? As daring as it is, people need to see the other side of the coin. Currently airing on ARY Digital on Saturdays, this drama has the kick that you need.

Khuda Mera Bhi Hai reached those turn of events that will blow you away. It’s no surprise that a mother’s everything is her child. A baby makes everything fall right into place and they are certainly the glue that hold the entire family together.

Mahi and Zain are devastated after the news that their baby is a transgender, the latest news just flips their world upside down. However, Zain’s mother leaves no stone unturned to make excuses to hurt her and rather than giving her a shoulder to cry on – she solely wants her son and her daughter in law to get rid of this baby. According to her this child is no less than an embarrassment.

Empathy is nowhere close to Zain’s mother whose only concerned about the honor of her family, do you think that’s fair?

She then decides to only poison  the mind of Zain and let him know that this baby will simply cause collateral damage, isn’t he suffering enough? Above all that – his mother is being that ‘bad guy.’ Do you think it’s right to torment your own son like that?

Mahi is shattered by the news and is breaking day by day, the strange thing about this entire situation is that Mahi is blamed by her mother in law for delivering ‘the third gendered baby.’ How is it her fault? Zain’s father and his brother both console him.

Moreover, Zain decides to let his child go, and reluctant Zain drives with his wife and leaves his baby to the clan of transgender.

How will Mahi survive without her baby? No matter what the gender be it’s still her baby. Will Zain understand the problems his wife is suffering? What does the future hold for this baby?

The next episode of Moray Saiyaan reveals some more. Zakia hates her ex husband Kabir as he tormented her beyond limits. Though it’s discussed that he should be there at Nimar’s wedding. Ghaziyan on the other hand who’s taken can’t hold himself back from flirting with Zubaria.

Morey Saiyyan has shows how Dr. Farah is a very dedicated doctor and always put her job before everything else. Her husband is alike and too is a doctor. We wonder what’s the role of these two in this entire show.

Why does Zubaria hate Ghaziyan so much? Though Ghaziyan was meant to marry Nimra – how will his family agree for him to tie the knot to Zubaria? Gul Bibi is hated by Zakia and Zubaria is her niece. What more is to be revealed?

Drama Plot:

There are a number of people in your life that would make your life so much better. Friends who you’d be able to share everything with, but can a boy and a girl stay only friends forever? Or at one point one of them will fall for otherh.

Bay Khudi is a tale of Fiza who shifted to her aunt’s house along with her mother after her father’s death. Saad’s mother loves Fiza as her own daughter. Fiza is happy because of Saad who’s her cousinand best friend, however Saad has feelings for Fiza.

Fiza luckily gets engaged to Asher who she loves and doesn’t realize what Saad feels for her. Saadcouldn’t accept the reality that Fiza is not his anymore and that’s where his love for her turns into obsession.

Saad assaults Fiza in a situation where she couldn’t recognize the rapist, and that’s where he takes the charge of accepting Fiza as her wife in front of everyone becoming the good guy. Now the years have passed and situation is different because no matter how unfair life is with you it still moves on.

Fiza has two daughters now but believes her elder daughter is and hates her. The reality is that Saad is the father of both of her daughters and that’s why he loves both of them equally.

Teri Chah Mein has taken a new turn where we can’t seem to hold our excitement but at the same time it makes us wonder if Mehwish deserved something as awful as a blood cancer for all the blunders she  made. The news however, shatters Zara. Will she still avenge her brother? Or is she going to forgive Mehwish?

On the other hand Faisal and Ambreen are in that happy phase where the two are just content and waiting for their little bundle of joy to arrive soon! Unaware of Mehwish’s condition these love birds are having the time of their life.

Furthermore, Zara refuses to marry Faizan as according to her she can’t no  more torment her mother. Mehwish doesn’t even want to get any kind of treatment for herself, looks like all she wants to do is spend some quality time with her daughter.

With the bombardments of unexpected news, another one falls into Zara’s lap – a proposal for Tahir is put forward for her to which she reacts highly odd. We feel she told tie the knot with Tahir though according to her, he has always been like a brother.

The second episode of Waada begins with Rehmat Bua tripping and hurting herself which makes her impossible to work, a wedding is right around the corner and the entire house is worried about a maid who will be a helping hand.

Jaana on the other hand is a complete gold digger who would want to marry a rich man in the city, her mother Rehmat is worried about her life. She is a pain for her mother and does nothing but get on ones nerves.

Furthermore, we see how perfect ‘ghareloo’ daughter in law Sumeira is. Another cherry on top is that Jaana arrives at Sumaira’s house to work as a replacement of Rehmat. Looks like she has some evil ideas popping in her head. She did give Shahab a weird look with a smirk.

It appears that Jaana is little too into Shahab, and intends to rule the entire bungalow. Moreover, Shahab is head over heels in love with his wife and plans another baby with her. Will this planning last long? How will Jaana succeed in her future where she sees herself as Mrs. Shahab.

Our entertainment industry is growing vastly when it comes to producing movies like Waar, Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, Janaan and Ho Mann Jahan, but guess what? The growth doesn’t limit to movies but too hit the production of TV shows.

The latest TV show Bay Khudi is about a girl who has zero feelings for her cousin and loves another man. However, the turn events causes her to become the victim of her cousin’s obsession and lust. Not like the reguler ‘phuppho ke bete se mohabbat hogai’ kind of drama.

Bay Khudi stars the beautiful Indian starlet Sara Khan along with Noor Hassan Rizvi as the main leads. It’s no surprise that Sara Khan is downright Cinderella look alike and she’s not just known in India but too adored here in Pakistan. In addition to Sara Khan and Noor Hassan, the show stars Laila Zuberi (Sabira), Fazila Qazi (Rukhsana), Hajra (Faiza), Fahad Ahmad (Farooq), Faisal Naqvi (Junaid), Zainab Jameel (Nazia), Arsalan Faisal (Ashar), Shazia Faisal (Shazia), Bilal Abbas (Arsam), Rahma Saleem (Wania) and Komal Aziz (Mariyam).

The first episode of Bay Khudi begins with Fizza who is full of life and lives with her aunt and cousin Saad, she knows well how to live in the moment. Fizza has another best friend besides Sid who’s Asher and they go to the same university.

Sid however is head over heels in love with Fizza and their mothers too wants these two to get married, it’s just that they seem like a perfect couple! Furthermore, Sid hates Asher and thinks that he’s stealing Fizza from her. It’s clear he envies him and wants him out of the picture.

On the other hand Asher is all set to propose Fizza but Saad’s sister hates Fizza as according to she’s just not worth it. Two proposals are on their way for Fizza. Who will she pick? Or will fate decide that for her? After Asher proposes Fizza she is dumfounded and bluntly tells him that she needs time to think.

Bay Khudi has kick started with a love triangle that keeps you wanting more and makes you curios about what’s coming next. There’s no doubt that Sara Khan has outdone herself with her debut in this Pakistani drama serial.

Another episode of Ghayal aired last night where the turn of events dropped our jaws. After listening to all the bitter words that Mahira heard from her mother in law, her own mother passed away. Another heart attack took away her life and she left her family drowning in tears.

The death of a mother just takes away your source of happiness, that’s exactly what happened to her daughters and her husband once Khadija passed away. Is there any chance that they will overcome the pain and have a normal life now?

On the other hand Mahira’s mother in law has left no stones unturned to make her suffer and be the worst. Her mother just passed away that’s how she reacts? Complications for this family only rise by every passing day and leave the members of this house just helpless.

Mahira’s entire in laws are moving back to U.S leaving her behind, but Faiz tells her to wait. Leaving a pregnant wife on her own? How manly is that? This leaves her devastated. The drama serial has certainly left many people ghayal.

What will happen to a father who’s one daughter was raped and other was separated from her husband? This is a lot to take in. Will Tooba marry her friends brother? What the future hold for Mahira now – as she’s left all alone with her husband and her in laws?
