Tooba and Omair are finally married and a bright future awaits her, the girl who went through hell and has suffered enough deserves a tad bit of happiness. On the night of her wedding Tooba was frightened of her husband but the affection she received from Omair changed all of that. Looks like she will actually be with her prince charming.

Ghayal has reached a major climax with re introducing Adil! The psychotic man is apparently Hadia’s husband, now this just got really interesting. After finding out that Adil is related to Omair Tooba is dumfounded and obviously can’t gather enough courage to live in the same house as he does. No matter where she stands now her past will always haunt her.

Adil seemed equally shocked after seeing Tooba, the rendezvous was something extraordinary! This twist has no doubt made the audience glued to their TV screens, Tooba’s family meets Adil and are too in other state of mind. Unaware of Adil’s sins, Tooba’s father greeted him nicely. Only if he knew the truth, the man wouldn’t be on the same floor as him.

Furthermore we witness how Ail is disgusted by Hadia but is chained because of his son with her, the bipolar man really needs therapy! Omair and his mother believe that these two are really happy and this marriage is an ideal one, unaware of the stance of Hadia – her family is content. Adil deep down is afraid about the truth being revealed, he did molest Tooba and the reality being revealed is his worst nightmare.

So now Tooba is terrified as hell about going and living in the same house as that devil, but we believe that she should stand up for herself and it’s enough with being afraid of Adil! Omair truly loves her and she should be glad about that, don’t you agree? Though we are curious about what will happen next.

ARY Films Jawani Phir Nahi Aani was included in the list, produced by Humayun Saeed – JPNA is about three friends who head out to take a break from their regular boring lives and their wives. They are accompanied by their very old friend Sherry with whom they share an escapade. The film was a blockbuster and the director Nadeem Baig has certainly surpassed our expectations. The movie consisted of a great soundtrack along with some humorous dialogues.

Additionally, Humayun Saeed’s production Dil Lagi‘s last episode too made it to this list, the drama was a super hit and the masses went gaga over the plot. The story revolves around (Mehwish Hayat) Anmol and (Humayun Saeed) Mohid. The two strive to uncover their true feelings for each other. Drama serial Waada just got interesting, and the  fact that we all hate Jaana makes her character even more intriguing. Saboor Ali has certainly outdone herself in the drama so far. The story moves forward with Jaana plotting against Sumera in order to get Shahab’s attention. With every passing her, her obsession for Shahab increases.

Her regular evil tactics and what not has caused just a tad bit of his concern towards her, the woman dreams beyond her imagination and her goal to marry Shahab is probably ridiculous as ever. On the other hand Shahab and Sumera are expecting another baby and that news confirm their love, but Jaana get extremely mad and could eat someone alive!

Moreover, Shahab’s driver makes a move on Jaana when there was no one home, but he was stopped by Shahab. This is another plus for Jaana as now she has everyone’s sympathy, her alligator tears caught the entire families attention but according to Arif she’s a complete crook with countless maneuverings.

Now that Sumera is expecting, her hubby is busy taking care of her, and Jaana is caught up with trying to achieve Shahab. No one could even envision that a girl who’s being a goodie two shoes could stoop so low, she’s like a life savior for everyone. Jaana even told her mother how her target is Shahab but she was warned as his love for his wife is pure, and now that a bundle of joy is on its way, their bond is stronger.

Ansar Burney 

The man needs no introduction. He is one man who is respected for what he does and what he stands for. Mr. Burney is a lawyer by profession and is Pakistan’s first human rights activist who stood up against brutalities against prisoners in Pakistani jails in 1980s. He has helped over 700, innocent prisoners from countries all around the world. These include persons locked up on false charges, those released from illegal prisons, sane persons illegally detained in mental asylums, illegal immigrants and those released from labor camps

Malala Yousufzai 

Born on July 12, 1997, in Mingora, Pakistan. As a child, she became an advocate for girls’ education, which resulted in the Taliban issuing a death threat against her. On October 9, 2012, a gunman shot Malala when she was traveling home from school. She survived, and has continued to speak out on the importance of education. She was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2013. In  2014,  she was nominated again and won, becoming the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

Asma Jahangir 

Born January 27, 1952 in Karachi is a leading Pakistani lawyer, advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, President Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan and human rights activist, who works both in Pakistan and internationally to prevent the persecution of religious minorities, women, and exploitation of children. She has spent her career defending the human which makes us very proud of her.

This episode showed Mahi standing on her feet  once again and at the same time it showed how Mahi and Zain felt about each other, the way Mahi turned this situation into an opportunity for Bubbly was beyond amazing!

The scene when Zain’s family is having breakfast showed that the family had driven apart mainly because of Arshi’s attitude. There was a time when Zain did not take his mother’s negative approach seriously, but now he does not have the energy to put up with the negativity. Mahi and her mother’s scenes in the episode proved that these tough times had only brought them together

Aisha Khan and Saba Hameed complement each other in all the scenes which makes their strong bond and beautifully written dialogues truly effective. Zain and Mahi both have changed in a few months but in a completely different way. Mahi’s conversation with Sanam was another one of those scenes which went to show Mahi’s open-mindedness. This drama has some really strong women who are standing by one another and balance out Arshi’s negativity which is my least favorite part of this drama.

On the other hand, Zahir’s proposal did not come as a surprise. It was good to see Sanam wondering how Mahi would feel about the way she felt about Zahir. Sanam and Mahi’s relationship so far has also been a terrific part of this drama. Similarly H’s character is also positive and balanced. His scenes with Mahi always put a smile on my face; he is caring and sensible which makes one wonder how he managed to spend all those years with a woman like Arshi!

Apart from the medical aspect of the situation, the writer has done complete justice to this script and the director has executed this script seamlessly. Also, Khuda Mera Bhi Hai is one of those few dramas in which all the actors involved are giving their best performances. Most of the characters in this play have a story to tell and you feel an instant connection with them without even trying and that in our opinion is the real beauty of this drama.

Muqabil suddenly gets interesting with the character of Parisa unraveling a tad bit more, the girl is as complicated as a puzzle. There’s a reason why her parents are worried about her, her being introvert has gotten them all to be concerned. Mohsin Abbas (son of Mehmood) plays a character of a very intelligent man who shares the same interest of growing plants as Parisa.

Parisa find Mohsin Abbas touching her plants and gets furious over it, but later it’s shown that the two were best friends as kids, looks like Paris is now trying to make a conversation with him only because she feels a little attached to him. Moreover, when Parisa’s dad tells her to make her hobby of growing plants into a career , she refuses because she feels they are a family. Does that make sense?

The show seems to be getting somewhere only after the second episode, as Parisa’s mother has come to a decision of declaring her ‘insane’ –  she wants her to get hitched as soon as possible. Her brother on the other hand doesn’t think she is less than a retard. The sad thing part about Parisa’s life is that no one is willing to understand her and has began to throw in their own judgments.

The scene with her and Mohsin Abbas in a garden showed how she actually has missed out on so much in life, she doesn’t listen to music or does she like going out with anyone. She has basically isolated herself and the realization was given by Mohsin Abbas. Though the status of these two are worlds apart, looks like a future is possible. Parisa has her parents worried, so a chance of normality for their daughter will be a score!

We believe that Parisa should let her big secret of being physically assaulted to her parents, that might help her have a better life, what do you think? Will Parisa and Mohsin Abbas develop a romance? Who was the devil who practically took the life of Parisa and left her like this? One would say that the worst thing that this year faced was Donald Trump, but guess what? Pakistan had its own share of loss that left it mourning. Several deaths that occurred this year have left people in an awe.

In Hollywood, Leonard Cohen, Peter Vaughan, Ron Glass, Gene Wilder, Muhammad Ali, Prince, Alan Rickman and David Bowie were just a few names that left us this year. However, Pakistan itself has had its share of high-profile deaths and some have indeed been highly unexpected.

With a heavy heart we wanted to look back to this year and think about the icons who left us in a heartbreak.

1. Junaid Jamshed 

The pop singer turned religious scholar passed in a plane crash of PIA PK-661 on 7th December. The sudden death caused the masses to mourn and popular singers like Shehzad Roy paid a tribute to the departed. Songs like Aitbaar, Ye Shaam, Na Tu Aayegi and Dil Dil Pakistan were his present to the country. The icon had recited Naats which are close to the heart of countless people across the globe.

2. Amjad Sabri 

The legendary Qawwal, Amjad Sabri became a target of terrorist attacks after he was gunned down by armed motorcyclists in daylight. He was the Nephew of famed qawwal Maqbool Sabri, Amjad’s sudden death left everyone in tears. The  qawwali maestro’s first and last Coke Studio performance.

The  qawwali maestro’s first and last Coke Studio performance “Aj Rang Hai” moved his fans to tears and it will remain the most cherished performance in the history of Pakistan.

3.Qandeel Baloch 

The most controversial celebrity of 2016, who was known as the Kim Kardashian of Pakistan was murdered by her brother Waseem Azeem in the name of honor killing. Her death took the public by storm.

4.Shahlyla Baloch 

She was one of the first Pakistani women football player to score a hat-trick for the country in an international arena. The 20-year-old, young soul passed in a car accident in Karachi. Shahlyla was a member of the Baluchistan United FC as well as the Pakistan national women football team.

5.Shamim Ara

Another icon that left us all drowning in tears was the four-time winner of the esteemed Nigar Award, Shamim Ara passed away after a extended illness that resulted going in a coma for six years prior to her death. She was known for her roles in films such as Devdas, Humraz, and Pal Do Pal, the actress, producer and director was known as one of the most successful women film director of Pakistan.

6.Fatima-Surayya-Bajia

One of the most prominent names in the world of literature and play writing, Fatima Surayya Bajia passed away earlier this year after a cruel combat with throat cancer.

Recognized for the most popular television series of her time, the novelist was also a heir of several honors including the Pride of Performance Award and Hilal-e-Imtiaz, which she received in 2012. She was also awarded the highest Japanese civil award for her contribution to the world of television and literature.

The previous episode of Moray Saiyan was slow but the good thing is that it’s finally moving forward, unraveling the story. Ghaziyan is set on his decision of marrying Zubaria and not Nimra, but this verdict has caused  a major problem at home. Furthermore, Zakia is after Zubaria to leave Ghaziyan alone, which infact isn’t true, it’s him who’s after her and wants to be with her. The love of Ghaziyan for her is true and he’s willing to take drastic measures for the girl who own his heart.

We too see that Zakia and his father have created a chaos at house and are forcing him to marry Nimra. It’s obviously wrong to force him to shut his feelings away for Zubaria, and give Nimra a loveless life! On the other hand Zubaria feels that Ghaziyan needs to listen to his parents and move on, she doesn’t want to cause any trouble between him and his family.

Zakia is someone who loves to play the victim card and wants to be the center of attention of every single person around her. It seems as if she has spent a lot of time feeding on the bitter memories of the past that she is unable to see how it has been taking a toll on everyone else around her.

Moray Saiyan has developed a new turn where Ghaziyan left his house solely for Zubaria, he knew that his father has made it certain that he can’t live with them if he decides to marry her. Leaving his childhood fiancé behind and moving on with a girl he just met wasn’t very mature of Ghaziyan, but who has any control over their feelings?

It’s about time that all the complicated relationships are untangled and shown properly for us to comprehend the root of the arguments between Zakia an d Gul Zeb. So moving on, do you think Ghaziyan and Zubaria will get married? How will Nimra survive this heartache? What does the character of Kabir brings into the show?

3 Bahadur – Revenge of Baba Balam is an adventure and emotion combine beautifully in one of the most visually extravagant animations in Pakistan yet, the movie gets you hooked to the screens right from the beginning.

Sharmeen Obaid – Chinoy and ARY Films teamed up for the sequel of 3 Bahadur, Chinoy is no name that requires introduction, her work is self evident. The film begins with Saadi (Zuhab Khan) Kamil (Hanzala Shahid) and Amna (Arisha Razi) who have their hands full with saving the day from various goons.

3 Bahadur – Revenge of Baba Balam is in Urdu and is proud of it; its witticisms and messages are for the nation as a whole and not just the anglicized upper classes. Juggling with school and being superheroes – the 3 Bahadur suddenly find themselves in a place where standing each other becomes impossible and that’s when the gang falls apart.

Baba Balam (Fahim Khan) is a character who is on the verge of ruling the world after he tricks Deenu Baba (Behroze Sabzwari) into surrendering his key. The movie is a fun packed rollercoaster which won’t allow you to lose interest for even a split second.

(Imran) Fahad Mustafa, Saadi’s mother (Sarwat Gillani) , Gola (Ahmed Ali Butt) and Tony/Teeli (Ali Gul Pir) have played a very strong supporting role that adds an icing on the cake. The animation of the film was spot on! The excellent thing is that Pakistani children have their own set of super heroes to look up to rather than Super or Batman.

Scenes that took the cake for me were when Kamil lands on Baba Balam’s lap and tells him ‘goudi se to utraaro uncle,’ and when Deenu Baba tells Baba Balam, that the good always triumphs over evil added that wow factor. The movie flaunted humor and lesson side by side which cracked me up and certainly taught me a thing or two about life as well (no I’m not 10 but who doesn’t love a good advice?)

Furthermore, the fact that I could relate the entire film to my very own Pakistan was smashing! Right from the late entry of the Police and their van, to the chai vala dhaaba and the crowd around TV cheering for the cricket match – it all just summed up our daily life. I could go on and on but believe me it’s just not enough, I loved the movie (I know I sound like a 12 year old but it’s true).

To conclude, I’d strongly recommend you to take your children and watch 3 Bahadur – Revenge of Baba Balam as soon as you can! Weekend is just around the corner, so there’s no school which is a cherry on top! The film is not anything that Disney or Pixar would deliver, but believe me it’s no less.

After the pain that caused Sumera to be taken to hospital, Shahab couldn’t be any more worried. His love for Sumera is true and he knows well how to show it. The drama was slightly slow when it started but now it has certainly picked up some pace. Will Jaana succeed in her evil mission? Looks like she has her hands full with countless plans.

After Sumera was strictly told to be in bed, the entire house is busy keeping her healthy. Will Sumera fall sick again? Looks like Jaana really wants Shahab which is why she looks for excuses to be around him day and night. How can someone be this cheap? Do you think she’ll win him over? Singer-turned-evangelist  Juniad Jamshed passed away on December 7th in a plane crash, it took lives of 42 passengers that peacefully sat in PIA’s plane PK-661, flying from Chitral to Islamabad. The fallen legend was laid to rest at Karachi’s Jamia Darul Uloom in Korangi Industrial Area on Thursday.

Singer Salman Ahmed also partook and dedicated his latest song ‘Door Bohat Door’ to late Junaid Jamshed, the video is about the various highs and lows of life and how one should be prepared to deal with them. The song is certainly a feast for the ears.

Lastly, Ali Zafar sang ‘Aitbaar’ solely to dedicate the departed. This sweet serenade is confirms that Junaid Jamshed was a man who ruled plenty of hearts and he’ll never be forgotten. No doubt that the singer/actor Ali Zafar has done justice to the song.

After Faiz yelled at Mahira for ignoring him and not being a good wife, she fell really sick and was taken to hospital. Faiz doesn’t really realize that his wife was 8 months pregnant and rather than being a pain he should’ve been her support. Mahira is finally blessed with a baby girl but Adil was the one who donated her blood.

Her critical condition had the entire family worried sick which caused a hassle. Moreover, Hadia overheard everything that Adil was saying to Tooba and how their past is linked, sadly Hadia is unaware about what precisely the past was. She was then highly inquisitive and began to throw in her concerns to her sister, who knows exactly what Tooba has been through. The tragedy is that even she is unaware of who assaulted Tooba. Only if she knew that Adil was the devil!

On the other hand Omair is extremely upset that his new bride is caught up in her maika dude to Mahira and her baby, he clearly needs his wife right next to him. Ghayal has us all hooked now which is another plus. Adil’s character is hated by all, the psychotic man thinks that hitting his wife may make him a stronger man. Doesn’t Hadia deserve a happy life with a sane husband?

This entire situation has gotten Mahira highly worried, the woman just had a baby and deserves to have a proper rest, instead she wanted to come home. Does Faiz even care? All he and his evil mother wants is a divorce from Mahira because she is all about family. One day the true colors of Adil will be revealed, but until then, the poor Hadia suffers. Do you believe that she will leave him once she finds out the truth?

Moreover, will Tooba actually announce how awful Adil is? Her father overheard everything and how Adil is a devil, will his heart attack be another problem? Khuda Mera Bhi Hai – another episode that was plain refreshing! The fact that Zahir stood up for Sanam and his bhabs was truly inspiring, Arshi has gone beyond the limits to try and control her sons. How long will that go? The woman hates Mahi and Noor. On the other hand, Zain is taken over by the feeling of losing his wife that he loves, he is weak to not accept Noor but he does want to be with Mahi. Will he divorce her?

The scene where Babli baji transformed herself to Babban was the best! His love for Noor is true and we all witnessed that, it was very overwhelming how one could change their entire personality for just a baby. Aly Khan who has played various roles gives a promising look, Mikael seemed like a sensitive and caring man who was also down-to-earth.

Furthermore, Arshi is persistent for Zain’s divorce and Zahir wanting to tie the knot with Sanam, but her husband is against that. Looks like she finally have someone to shut her up. His is a good man to even stand by Zahir’s side when he married Sanam against of his mother’s will. This is something that really ticked off Arshi and made her realize the fact that she can’t keep her sons at leash!

Now that Noor is all grown up there’s a problem of where he has to go, his education is now another obstacle for Mahi and her son. Is being male or female specify your future? Being a third gender is his fault? Our schools need to understand how important it is to educate a child not based on his/her gender.

The bold Mahi has made it her mission to give her only son a normal life to live amongst everyone, will she win? Will Noor have a chance to have a regular life? The previous episode of Naimat was another emotional ride, the fact that Bilal was mad at Baber is probably a trauma he can’t get over of. It’s like he’s dying as the clock ticks. It’s all about Bilal and his depart has taken a piece of him along, for some reason he feels guilty for his existence. Guess you know the value of someone once they are no longer around.

The state of Sara is fairly similar to Baber’s, for her Bilal was the source of oxygen and now that he’s no more, it’s like she has no purpose. Furthermore, Zara knows very well how to get on someone’s nerve and that’s precisely what she is doing with Baber and Sara, but a tight slap was just what she needed to come to her senses. The funny thing is that Sara believes her husband has fallen in love with his ex wife all over again! How does that make any sense at all?

The entire situation has now made the whole show that has gotten all the viewers something to look forward to, Baber who is helpless and needs his son around, Zara whose sole motive is to live a happy life with her husband, and Sara who most likely doesn’t even know what she needs right now besides sanity.
