Kami Sid’s ‘Rani’ Wins Big At ‘Outfest’ Los Angeles!

In the cinema industry full of charm and shimmer, few characters from the movies of relatively lesser budget leave their mark for a long period of time for all the perfect reasons. Similarly, the short film ‘Rani’ has accumulated infinite praise on various platforms across the country. Being the lead protagonist of the film, Kami Sid, plays a pivotal role in the film’s success with her immaculate acting and flamboyant expressions, along with powerful dialogues.

The thespian and social activist, Kami Sid, has emerged in the headlines for her photoshoot exhibiting the need of mainstreaming transgender community in the fashion industry of Pakistan. She has opted to be a part of this flick because she wanted to lay abundant stereotypes to rest.

The fame of this short film is not just confined to Pakistan, it has been screened in a number of film festivals throughout the world. Rani has been selected for its stellar story in festivals like NBC Universal Short Film Festival, Rhode Island Intl Film Festival, Outfest, Newport Beach Film Festival, Caamfest and Asian American Intel Film festival. The flick has managed to reach to the semi-finals in NBC Universal Short Film Festival and is scheduled to be screened on the 15th of August in New York.

Rani has recently become the winner of the Fox Inclusion Short Award, at Outfest Los Angeles! The 14-minute visual treat is loved by the entire audience present at the venue. We have reached out to the lead protagonist, Kami Sid, to know how does she feel about this huge victory. She says, “I feel very lucky that I became a part of this film. My character in the movie is unprecedented and the entire shooting process has been an absolute delight.” She goes on to say that she had no clue that the movie will set new milestones in the history of Pakistani cinema. “My friends and family living in the US are extremely happy to see that a softer image of Pakistan has been portrayed through the movie,” she continues.

Rani touches upon the undisclosed topic of a transgender and her motherhood, making it a flick that will not be forgotten, anytime soon. We are certain that this movie will captivate the local and international audience for its adroitness and emotional appeal.

‘Coke Studio’ All Set To Hold Pakistan Spellbound!

So the wait comprising of an entire year is over and the first episode of the highly anticipated musical season, Coke studio is here to conquer all the senses of every spectator of the show. Coke Studio just released its first episode and the amount of charm exhibited through the entire episode is absolutely ravishing.

Earlier this year, the producers, Ali Hamza and Zohaib Kazi have gone on a talent hunt spree across the country, from the deserts of Balochistan to the lush green valleys of Kashmir, ending up in a remarkable series, entitled, Coke Studio Explorer.

The first episode of the 11th installment of Coke Studio Pakistan has literally so much to offer, that every listener will undoubtedly have goosebumps, the entire episode with tears falling down their cheeks because of the grandiosity their lyrics possess.

The show unfolds with all the A-list singers; Fareed Ayaz, Abu Muhammad, and brothers along with the gorgeous Natasha Baig enthrall in the spiritual journey of Allama Iqbal with their rendition of his classical, ‘Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa’, making it an unarguable treat to the ears, eyes and the sense of feeling and perceiving. Not only does this song carry magic, Ali Hamza and Zohaib Kazi have filled the entire new generation with enthusiasm for Iqbal’s poetry through it.

For the first time ever on any show produced in Pakistan, fragments from the transgender community have taken over the stage to oomph the spectators with their energy and amazing voice! Lucky and Naghma showcase their signature style with a lot of grace along with Jimmy Khan’s unique voice for a folk tune with a tappa style composition. ‘Baalkada’ is a groove that is full of funk, paired with humorous lyrics, and a catchy hook making it a total hit.

Rapping was unknown to Coke Studio, until today, when the super-talented, Lyari Underground and the legit “One Man Army”, Young Desi take all the listeners with their next level rapping game, by storm. From the first second of the song, till the last moment, ‘Rap Hai Saara’ has divulged as the plethora of immense energy. The song is in Balochi, English, Urdu and Punjabi languages, making the audiences tap their feet on the perfect chemistry of LUG and Young Desi.

The last song of the first episode happens to trigger just the right amount of passion in the heart of every person listening to it. ‘Main Irada’ is a powerful upbeat tune that is catered to the audience by the super talented, Haniya, the gorgeous, Rachel, along with the newly discovered Shamu Bai and the cuties, Ariana and Amrina, making it the contemporary women’s anthem for all the right reasons. The beat, instruments, and vocals stay accurately aligned and synchronized throughout the song.

The entire episode incorporates diversity, from the rap, the constituents of Pakistan’s transgender community, Iqbal’s surreal poetry, to the soulful voice of the little ones from Chitral. The visual treat starts off with the scene depicting a traditional wedding ceremony, revealing the bride and her bridesmaids walking down the aisle amidst the sprinkle of white flowers. The cutie, Mawra Hocane gets all eyes hooked to the screens as she walks to the center, donned in a gorgeous Baby Pink Ghagra, embellished with precise jewelry. Likewise, the owner of mighty looks and adroit acting capabilities, Faizan Sheikh has gotten Nikkahfied with the absolutely gorgeous, Maham Aamir, who caters phenomenal acting to the audiences, a few months back, in a beautiful affair.

Ever since the Nikkah, these cuties have been giving us some major couple goals.

They have also appeared on various television shows, including ARY Digital’s Good Morning Pakistan and performed rather flamboyantly.

In Videos: Strings Captivates Ample People With Its Awesomeness!

When we think of enthusiasm, we naturally end up thinking about patriotism, and what’s more patriotic than the Independence Day Of Pakistan? Certainly nothing. Albeit having ample concerts scheduled on the night of 13th, people have been coming in huge numbers in the midst of Shahrah e Faisal to have a glimpse at their favorite band, Strings, enthralling till the start of Pakistan’s 72nd Independence Day along with the surreal, Kubra Khan and the astounding Marwa Hocane.

The open-air concert venue was oozing with patriotism, as all the spectators arrived wearing green and white outfits to pay homage to their beloved country, Pakistan. As the lights flashed towards the audience, the huge number of attendees was witnessed rather instantly.

As the gates closed, the young sensation, Raafay Israr officially kicked off the show with the well-acclaimed, Junoon’s upbeat number, Jazba Junoon, that got the level of patriotism multiply by a hundred. After filling the audience with absolute energy, he had to maintain it, so he performed Dil Dil Pakistan, Teri Deewani, and the well-celebrated, Dhamaal, that got the people groove in its signature array.

Soon after Rafay’s performance was over, the absolutely gorgeous, Mawra Hocane and the beautiful, Kubra Khan, came up the stage, stealing the limelight. The female lead protagonists promoted their upcoming flick, JPNA2, amidst cheer and excitement galore. The cuties also distributed the official merchandises of the second installment of the superhit, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani.

Finally, one of the top Pakistani bands emerged one after another, from the lead guitarist, Adeel, to the young champ on the drums, Aahad Nayani. Followed by a countdown, the legendary, Faisal Kapadia and the melodious, Bilal Maqsood divulged, making the entire audience literally go gaga over them.

Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood entertained the crowd in a way no one else could, quite literally. They performed on their super hit songs like Na Janay Kyun, Chaaye Chaaye,  Zinda, Mera Bichra Yaar, and Dour.

The band did not just perform, keeping in view that the band just completed its 30 years of togetherness, Faisal kept telling how things changed during the past thirty years. He shared a fun fact in front of the audience, “Aahad was born after the band was formed, making him the youngest, but the toughest lad of the band.” Strings also intoned their recent songs from the album ‘Thirty’, including, the melodious, Piya Re, the awakening, Urr Jaoon and the spectacular, Sajni, to celebrate three phenomenal decades of the band.

The show was hands down, house full and the entire audience happily agreed on whatever the band asked them to do. From taking out phones and show the magic of their flashlights, to singing with them, to jump with every step they take, the attendees proved that they were unarguably captivated by the magic of these veteran singers.

The clock hit 12 while Faisal sang Main Tou Deekhun Ga, making all the people roar with enthusiasm and sing with him. The entire lyrics of the song exactly depicted the ongoing scenario of Pakistani politics amid the fresh aroma of ‘Naya Pakistan’ along with the pyrotechnics, getting lit.

Strings closed the show with their all-time treat, Hai Koi Hum Jesa, getting all the spectators grooving, making it truly, a spectacular affair. The super-awesome VJ, Faizan Haqqee, hosted the show with complete mastery, playing a pivotal part in getting the spectators to stand on their toes, with all their senses hooked to the stage.

On the occasion of the 72nd independence day of Pakistan, we reached out to various celebrities, asking them to tell just one thing they are planning to do for the country in order to make a bit better than it was a year ago, for their little pledge can ignite enthusiasm and patriotism in their countless fans.

Our very own and hands down very ‘Khoobsurat’, Ayesha Omer pledges to gather all plastic bottles from her home, her friends’ home and from everywhere she can to ensure that they are reused afterward because plastic waste causes a lot of hassle for the sea creatures to survive.

Our favorite actor from Khasara, Junaid Khan, talks about his band’s initiative to make Pakistan green. Just like Iqrar-ul-Hassan, Junaid also plans to have trees all across the country to curb the ongoing wave of global warming and species endangering.

The lead protagonist of the highly anticipated JPNA2, Kubra Khan talks about her pledge to “Plant trees like everyone is doing,” so that she can become a part of Pakistan’s development.

The gorgeous, Zhalay Sarhadi sheds light on one of the most harrowing issues our country is facing, Pollution. The prima donna further promises to make conscious efforts to throw the waste in designated trashcans, in lieu of throwing the garbage out of car anywhere.

The stunning, Mawra Hocane says, “Naya Pakistan is here but we need people to change themselves to bring an overall change in the country.” She asks her fans and followers to begin this change simply by keeping the country clean.

Being one of the finest Vjs Pakistan ever produced, the classy, Faizan Haqqee says that he will do anything, including sacrificing his life for the country. He promises to produce a documentary depicting Pakistan’s history and the resources we possess.

This immensely talented young lad, Asim Mehmood vows to keep his neighborhood clean, just like he keeps his home clean, for a cleaner and better Pakistan.

Our very own, Ayaz Samoo pledges to plant trees for a greener Pakistan, along with his spouse and his mother. He says, “Now is the need of this gift to our country, Pakistan, because we are already in the midst of an elevated global warming, resulting in scarcity of rain in the region.”

The ultimate Junooni, Salman Ahmed pledges and asks his fans to pledge that they will follow the golden lines of the well-acclaimed, Allama Iqbal, on achieving a place in life where the God will ask the human about what does he wish for.

Our favorite actor and host, Faysal Quraishi, in a tweet, promises to plant trees for the country, making it healthier and greener.

We are certain that the entire Pakistani populace will jump on the bandwagon of making Pakistan prosper and flourish.

All fragments of the movie have been praised by a huge populace residing within Pakistan and abroad. Gigi Hadid Visits Rohingya Refugee Camps In Bangladesh

As Monsoon is just around the corner in the South Asian region comprising India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, a spell of massive rain is expected to hit these countries in the coming days. Bangladesh has an abundance of Rohingya Muslim refugees currently in its suburbs, due to their displacement from Burma. As many as 703,000 children need humanitarian assistance right now, ahead of the devastating Monsoon season. Known for her gorgeous personality and flamboyant sashay, Gigi Hadid is recently in Jamtoli Refugee Camp, Bangladesh, to spend some quality time with Rohingya refugees and to speak to the women present there.

She has posted a set of photos when she was on her way to the refugee camp.

The prima donna has taken to her Instagram to tell her fans about the refugee camp and the reason she has gone there for. She shares a few photos of Jamtoli Refugee Camp, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, along with a selfie with little children of the area, having a veil on her head, looking beautiful with lesser makeup.

She posts a photo of a women’s education zone in the camp and writes, “Today at one of the ‘Women/Girl Friendly’ zones in the Jamtoli Camp: a safe place for women, young and old, to come learn basic education as well as personal hygiene, skills such as sewing, and also a place where they can share & connect with other women. We spoke about their personal stories & hardships, what they enjoy and benefit from currently in the refugee camps, what they still need, and what they hope for their futures. Their strength, bravery, and desire to learn and better their lives and the lives of their children is inspiring and encourages us to continue to find new ways to support these amazing human beings during this crisis.”

Apparently, the diva is having a fabulous time with the kids and their families in Bangladesh. Gigi Hadid has made herself all comfy, by playing football and getting engrossed in various activities with the children. She posts a set of photos and videos depicting the amount of fun she is having at the refugee camps.

This morning we visited the @UNICEF Child Friendly Space in Camp 9 of the Kutupalong Balukhali Refugee Camp, which sole purpose is to let kids be kids !!! ???????? As well as psychosocial work to help them get through trauma through activities like art, they also can play sports, learn music, and learn to read & draw (some for the first time in their lives). Separate from educational spaces, the importance of these spaces is huge due to the fact that refugee children can spend a majority of the day working, usually collecting fire wood from miles away so their families can cook, taking care of siblings, helping around the house, etc., and here they can just focus on having fun! ?? Today we also visited a @UNICEF Learning Center in the Shamlapur Refugee Camp, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh (Camp Population: 13,050). This is the 7-10 year old class, they are one class of 3 daily shifts (there is also a 4-6 y/o class and a 11-14 y/o class). Here they learn Burmese and English, Mathematics, and Life Skills (exercise, breathing, and self-hygiene), as well as given psychosocial support where they can openly discuss how they are doing emotionally. Their English teacher is a local lady from the host-community in Cox’s Bazar, and their Burmese teacher is a Rohingya refugee, both whom have been recently trained using an Emergency Curriculum developed for this crisis. @unicefbangladesh @unicefusa ?????? #childrenuprooted

JPNA2 Is Hands Down The Best Movie Pakistan Ever Produced!

Films play a pivotal role in catering various agendas to the audience. A movie is one of the most influencing means to comprehend whatever is being depicted. The success of movies is determined by two factors; their box office business and reviews by the audiences and critiques and we see JPNA2 becoming the next big thing, for all the right reasons.

Both Eids have been true representatives of movie releases in Bollywood. We remember Salman Khan movies being released every Eid, garnering an abundance of fame and monetary gain. Likewise, the Eid-Ul-Azha of 2018 marks the release of a few A-list Pakistani movies, exhibiting a tough competition between them. A few first-rate movies are all set to release this Eid throughout Pakistan, but, only one to two seem to leave a mark on the hearts of the people who will spend Rs. 700-1000 on the movie tickets.

We went to the premiere of JPNA2 and the reactions were phenomenal! A perfect juxtaposition of mirth and action made the second installment of the well-acclaimed Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, unarguably better than its prequel. People were laughing their hearts out during humorous scenes and they legit laid back in their seats whenever intense scenes came.

It is usually a troublesome job for the director to bring something more fascinating in a sequel, than its first part. But, the maestro, Nadeem Beyg has done it with complete mastery, getting the eyes of all the spectators hooked to the screen throughout the 3-hour long visual delight.

Just like JPNA, the amalgam of Vasay Chaudhary’s flamboyant script and Nadeem Beyg’s impeccable direction makes the second part more exciting and definitely more appealing. The film starts off with Pervez (Ahmed Ali Butt) and Sheikh (Wasay Chaudhary) living with their wives, Lubna (Uzma Khan) and Gul (Sarwat Gillani) in the same city. The story unfolds with Lubna’s brother, Rahat(Fahad Mustafa) falling in love with Zoe (Mawra Hocane,)the daughter of a renown fashion designer Balani (Sohail Ahmed).

Albeit being in no contact with Sherry(Humayun Saeed) for years, Pervez and Sheikh find him in a mental asylum for attempting suicide numerous times. They end up taking his custody which kicks off another spree of challenges for them.

Beside the super-awesome direction and script, the movie exhibits just the right amount of humor which is catered by the immensely talented protagonists of the movie. Ahmed Ali Butt arguably happens to be the soul of this movie, with his adroit dialogue delivery and outstanding body language throughout JPNA2. In spite of being the writer of JPNA2, Vasay Chaudhary has maintained his wit from the first scene to his last scene with an absolute ace. Sarwat Gillani has been an absolute cutie, showering her super-funny phrases at apt times.

Humayun Saeed has proved to be the most experienced actor of the entire movie with his consistent class, super awesome dance moves and unrivaled dialogues. He and his love interest Kubra Khan, have complemented each other in so many ways. From the songs to romance and emotional scenes, seems like both the actors have taken their A-game to the sets. Albeit being new to the cinema, Kubra has managed to act all natural in every scene of both Turkey and Dubai shooting spells.

Despite being a new edition to the cast, Fahad Mustafa has played his part very responsibly and avoided unnecessary attention. From his suave looks to his sharp suits and an exquisite personality, Fahad has accumulated just the right amount of limelight with his stellar performance in the movie. His on-screen fiancé, Mawra, looks surreal with her grand array, carrying a cute pup and driving exotic cars. The chemistry between these two gives us legit couple goals.

The portrayal of Indo-Pak love affair in JPNA2 is an essential fragment of the movie, keeping it simple and fast-paced with an inclusion of real Bollywood actors in the flick. The entire story of the movie has traveled like a bullet train with no unnecessary shots or drag. One of the best things about JPNA2 is its unpredictability. The movie offers ambiguity, making it a three-hour-long, immensely entertaining piece of unprecedented art.

It’s just the fourth day of JPNA2’s release and it has already started to break all the records, capping the list of ‘highest business done in the first two days of release, by any movie’ screened in Pakistan. The movie has set a new benchmark with a business of more than PKR 100,000,000 worldwide. The movie is garnering an exceptional amount of praise across the world for its flamboyant cast, powerful dialogues, intriguing storyline, phenomenal music and the cameo of our all-time favorite superstar, Fawad Khan.

Albeit being present in the first few minutes of the movie, Fawad Khan didn’t manage to make it to any premiere of the movie. Fawad’s fans and the fraternity were expecting him at either of the Lahore or Karachi premieres but he didn’t show up.

Little did we know that the B’ town sensation, Fawad was away from the limelight for a larger cause. The A-list protagonist is currently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and he has just completed one of the most important constituents of Islam; Hajj, along with his better half, Sadaf.

However, the protagonist has represented the entire Pakistani populace at the closing ceremony of Hajj, hosted by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Media.

ARY Digital continues to amaze its viewers with yet another impeccable story called, ‘Meri Baji’. It explores the lives of maids working in households. Their daily struggles, trials, and tribulations have been highlighted in the drama.

Clik here to view. Meri BajiNasreen, played by, Javeria Abbasi, belongs to the lower class of our society. Stricken by poverty, she works as a maid to run her house, and fulfill her family’s basic requirements.

Sharafat, played by, Rashid Farooqui, is Nasreen’s abusive husband who does not support his family and is oblivious to their problems. He drives a rickshaw and spends all his money on gambling.

Rabia, played by, Kiran Tabeer, Neelofer, played by, Aroha Khan, and Chutki, played by Hira Ahmed, are the daughters of Nasreen and Sharafat. Rabia is the eldest, followed by Neelofer and Chutki.

Rabia aka Rabi is the step-daughter of Nasreen, but she has raised her as her own daughter. Rabia is ambitious and dreams of marrying a rich guy who will take her out of her poor stricken condition.
