Amid a potpourri of extraordinary dramas that have aired on ARY Digital in 2018, incorporating some of the finest actors our country has ever produced, we decided to leave it completely to the people watching those dramas to choose whom do they think is the best actor of the entire year through an online poll.

OF ALL THESE SUPER FLAMBOYANT ACTORS, WHO DO YOU THINK IS UNARGUABLY THE BEST ACTOR OF 2018?Vote Here: https://bit.ly/2GzXD5E

Publicat? de ARY Digital pe Vineri, 21 decembrie 2018

The unexpected outpour of voters has made it evident that the channel and its dramas are binge watched not solely in Pakistan, but in the entire world at large. For his stellar performance of a guilty father, the immensely talented, Faysal Quraishi wins the top spot, becoming ARY Digital’s ‘Actor of the Year’ for 2018.

Related: Hameed’s remorse becomes evident through his face!

The 45 years-old actor is known for his versatility and has played roles from a happy-go-lucky boy and a successful businessman to a villain and now, to a father who commits an unforgivable sin. Haiwan is a pivotal drama in Faysal’s career because the amount of intensity it offers is beyond any explanation, literally.

Upon garnering the most number of votes, we have got in touch with Abdullah Seja, the producer of Haiwan, asking him about Faysal’s performance as Hameed in the drama. He says, “I cannot imagine anybody playing the role better than how Faysal Bhai has done. I get goosebumps whenever I see the character and how he has played it. Probably this is one of the toughest characters I have seen any actor portraying in my life. In my entire career, I have never seen somebody portraying such a difficult character with such conviction.” In the end, Abdullah reaffirms that only Faysal Quraishi could do justice to the character of Hameed.

Haiwan sheds light on child abuse, which is unarguably one of the most heinous issues our country is enduring for a long period of time. This drama not only tends to bring a bitter truth in the mainstream, but it also comes with a lesson for the parents and siblings to avoid trusting anyone with their children and younger siblings respectively.

Among other nominees, the stunning, Neelum Muneer grabs the second spot for her outstanding acting in Dil Mom Ka Diya as Ulfat. Meanwhile, the gorgeous, Aiman Khan has achieved the third position for playing Biya in Bay Dardi with complete mastery.

Congratulations for becoming ARY Digital’s ‘Actor of the Year’ Faysal! More power to you!

Haiwan ends on an intriguing and powerful note

Haiwan is not just a drama, it has become an entire institution for parents and siblings to fathom that their children and younger siblings need appropriate protection. Moreover, they need not rely on any friend or for that matter, any relative, with their children because they must be taken care by either parents or elder siblings only.

Haiwan starts off with two families living in complete harmony beside each other as neighbors. They are on good terms with their daughters being best friends. One family consists of parents; Hameed and Amna, having Sawera and Javeria (Jojo) as their daughters along with a son named Maan who lives in the United States. The other family consists of Azra and her daughters Masooma and Momina who are Jojo and Sawera’s best friends respectively.

One day while Hameed’s family is away and Masooma comes finding her friend Jojo, he commits an unforgivable sin under the influence of alcohol and tries to hide her body. Azra comes to his house to find her younger daughter but she couldn’t find her because her daughter is already dead.

Related: Hameed’s remorse becomes evident through his face!

In the midst of the entire searching spree, Maan comes back to Pakistan and falls in love with Momina. His father, Hameed is stressed and remorseful because of his heinous act, therefore, he resists Maan’s inclination towards Momina. However, Maan and Amna convince him for the wedding but he doesn’t behave well with his daughter-in-law. On the other hand, he gets Sawera married to one of his friends’ son.

Things start to get suspicious when Hameed acts weird in front of his family and Momina. A baby girl is born to Maan and Momina and they name her as Masooma. Hameed goes to perform Umrah and behind his back, Maan gets the garden of their home dug to extract water from the ground. They find Masooma’s body under the ground that makes Azra speculate Hameed as the abductor of her child. She goes to the police to file a complaint against the entire family.

Upon Hameed’s return, they ask Hameed but he denies at first. However, he confesses his wrongdoing in front of his wife and Momina hears everything. But his wife, Amna pretends that he is not the sinner. After a plethora of distrust and hatred towards Momina, Maan pushes her out of the house for accusing his father of the crime.

But Amna admits her husband’s sin in front of her children and they start to hate him. Jojo listens to everything on her way back from school and she runs away in agony. Yelling and cursing cause Hameed’s health to worsen and his family takes him to the hospital. While being in the hospital they find out Jojo is not at home and their existing sufferings increase.

Momina comes back to take care of her mother-in-law in the painful time. Amna and Maan ask for forgiveness and to pray for their Jojo. When Hameed comes to know about Jojo, he runs back home, going to Azra for forgiveness and begged her to pray for his lost child. Azra says that she will pray for her. The phone rings and Maan goes to the hospital to find his daughter injured. When she comes back to consciousness, she starts getting frightened from Hameed and asks him to leave.

Upon their arrival at home, Amna goes to Azra to tell her that she will testify against her husband. She comes back home and calls the police, asking them to arrest her husband. The police arrest him but after a year or so, they acquit him for having a mental disorder but he doesn’t come back home. Eight months after his acquittal, Azra finds him begging for forgiveness and revenge from every other person, sitting on the stairs of a shrine. She goes a step ahead and hears Masooma, waving.

Related: Haiwan | A Compendium Of Ignorance And Regret

Haiwan does not only shed light on such a pivotal topic in a very subtle way, but it also informs and educates the Pakistani populace about all the prevalent potential dangers that often go unnoticed, that is evident through Azra’s media talk in the last episode.

Also, coming to the acting, Faysal Quraishi has just proved to be one of the most versatile and talented actors our country has ever produced. His pristine expressions throughout the drama can send chills down the spine of everyone who watches it. He has been pushing boundaries with his spectacular acting all his career but with his role of Hameed in Haiwan, he takes the concept of acting to a whole new level, setting a milestone in the Pakistani drama industry.

Not just Faysal Quraishi, the stunning, Sanam Chaudhry, the legendary, Sawera Nadeem, the talented, Iffat Omar and the debutant, Wahaj Ali have had their equal share of adroitness when it comes to the perfect dialogue delivery with extraordinary facial expressions and body language.

Helmed by Mazhar Moin and produced by Abdullah Seja under the banner of iDream Entertainment, Haiwan has vanquished all previous standards by setting new standards of direction, dialogues and acting altogether.

ARY Digital’s ‘Bandish’ looks vehement and spine-chilling

We have been watching the West, making movies on existing social issues, in order to highlight them blatantly, to subsequently attain positive results. Keeping the West in mind, Bollywood also appears to follow the footsteps by producing flicks on intense taboo topics, that often create a difference. In Pakistan, ARY Digital has become the torchbearer and arguably the only channel, in churning out dramas that not only provide entertainment, but they also delve into the most serious and pivotal issues that are rotting our country.

A few teasers of ARY Digital’s upcoming drama, Bandish have just surfaced on social media and the profound story they carry will literally make your skin crawl. The drama touches upon the use of black magic and its mishandling because of factors such as jealousy and insecurity.

Related: Kaisa Hai Naseeban — A story of suffering in loneliness

The first teaser of Bandish divulges the to-be-bride and her friend, getting her ready. They are content because of the pilot’s proposal for the girl. While both families sit together, the boy’s mother asks whether her son can meet the girl in person and her mother agrees. While both of them talk, the girl starts to act and speak in a strange way, apparently as if she is possessed. The teaser also unveils a person performing steps of black magic.

The second teaser depicts the same girl, donned as a bride, all set for her Nikkah ceremony. As the cleric asks her whether she accepts or not, she gets a seizure and the woman that appears to be the groom’s mother gets up and accuses her family of hiding the girl’s rare disease, while her mother tries to convince everybody that it is her daughter’s first ever epilepsy attack.

The next teaser starts off with a little girl, all revved up to go for an examination. Her mother gives her warm wishes and an abundance of prayers with the certainty that she will perform well in her exam. She goes to the school and sits for the exam, but to her surprise, something happens to her all of a sudden and she completely forgets whatever she had learned and she ends up merely drawing lines on the paper.

The fourth teaser of Bandish depicts the mother, coming to the living room that has doors for two rooms. As she arrives, she hears her daughters on both doors, crying for help. She tries hard to open the doors but she couldn’t. Out of helplessness and agitation, she sits down and starts reciting Quranic verses. As she recites, the camera moves into the room, showing that her daughter is sitting on a couch, using her phone with a smile on her face, unhurt.

This potpourri of immense suffering and unbearable pain entitled Bandish is all set to garner exceptional praise very soon, only on ARY Digital.

Balaa ends but it will surely be remembered!

Balaa has become the epitome of karma ever since its last episode Monday night. The drama has not only touched new horizons with such a tremendous storyline, but it also shed light on how a woman can make or break a home. On one side, it shows the ultimate Balaa, Nigar, and on the other hand, it shows Saba, the girl with whom Taimoor’s mother still finds solace.

The character of Taimoor’s mother has been developed in such a way that it depicts all constituents of an actual mother. All of us can actually relate to the way she is always there for her children with her legit unconditional love. Even when she knows that Nigar’s intentions are not good, she still struggles to make her son become fond of her. At times, she fights with her daughters for Nigar, just to be sure that her son is finally happy with her, after the entire Saba fiasco.

Related: Balaa | An Agglomeration Of Insecurity, Jealousy, And Revenge

Mother’s love is one of the most tender things in the whole universe and we have seen Taimoor’s mother stay in her room against her will, away from her only son, just to show Nigar that she is on her side. The sorrow-stricken mother of two young dead daughters, in spite of knowing the reason, stays composed and doesn’t say anything bad to Nigar because she is a mother after all and a mother is not only her children’s mother, she’s the mother.

Nigar’s character is also very effective in a way that she can do anything and everything for her satisfaction. We all have witnessed such people in our lives who are the first ones to blame others for their own shortcomings. While staying at her father’s house, she victimizes her sister-in-law, Zeba every now and then. She just wants people, specifically her family to fulfill her orders and if something goes against her will, she sabotages the entire family. Her planning makes Saba run away on her wedding day, just because she likes Taimoor and could do anything to be with him like all other things she has wished for. People like Nigar are full of themselves and they cannot ever be satisfied, let alone try to make others happy.

Related: The world has turned upside down for both Taimoor and Nigar

Just for the sake of Taimoor, she literally plans Batool’s death by sending Taimoor to the restaurant she is having a meal at and then marrying her to Junaid, only to get her killed, alleging her of running away. What happened to her in the last episode is undoubtedly a befitting response from nature. The last episode of Balaa has actually given relief to all the spectators with the restoration of their belief in nature’s law of karma. Balaa undermines selfishness and manipulation in a very subtle manner; everything she had done with her mother-in-law, happens with her the same way, so much so that she even forgets her own name.

Coming to the pristine character of Taimoor, he is the juxtaposition of a boy who loves his family and a man who drifts away from his family due to his spouse. We’re certain there are loads of Taimoors in the society who don’t yearn for the reality from the beginning and get to know about the truth once the situation becomes unmanageably worse. Perhaps it is not even his fault because he is immersed in his work since he is the only earner of the family and because he has just been betrayed by the girl he fell in love with. He finds Nigar as his ultimate savior in the time of need because she hits the right spot at the right time.

Related: You can watch all the episodes of Balaa here

The traditional patriarchy that is in the roots of our society is challenged in the episode when he sees Batool with a boy and drags her home. His mother then tarnishes the tower of male ego he had. Like a responsible family man, notwithstanding Nigar’s constant hullabaloo, he tries to keep the situation under control by listening to a bit from his mother and a bit from his wife. But once he gets to know about the reality, there’s no holding back. He finds every missing part of the truth and punishes her in the same way. The reason why employees, maids, and Saba take his side is that they all have been victimized by Nigar in various ways. Very subtly, Taimoor avenges his mother and sisters in the same way they were humiliated by Nigar and her family. In spite of neutralizing, he rather chooses a painful living for them by getting Nigar retarded, getting Junaid to confess and getting their father live alone in an old age home.

Not just these three characters, all other characters including Saba, Junaid, his father, Batool, Saleha and everyone else have complemented the entire storyline of the show. The drama has been written in such a way that no episode has been any less intriguing than others. Not only does it come with a lesson for people to be humble and kind, but it also tells you to be prompt and vigilant enough to judge the situation before it’s late. Balaa sheds light on the renown English proverb, “What goes around comes around” with a strong message of the reaffirmation on God’s plans.

Balaa has been a true rollercoaster ride of emotions. Who has been your favorite character throughout the show? Have your say in the comments’ section below.

The veteran actress, Roohi Bano has passed away earlier today, in a hospital in Turkey after a prolonged kidney disorder. In a statement, her sister Rubina Yasmeen has said that the actress was put on a ventilator for the past ten days because “she had been suffering from kidney failure”.

Roohi BanoAlbeit having a plethora of praise for her outstanding acting throughout her career and even after that, the legendary actress had spent a life engulfed in anguish and misery. Bano’s predicament throughout her life was an amalgamation of agony and pain.

If we were to make her biopic, it would be rather a sad one because of the continuous outpour of ill-fate mishaps she had to endure. After being in two unsuccessful wedlocks, her son’s death in his pristine youth had left her soul afflicted and herself deeply distressed.

Her marriages and son’s death had become catalysts of her mental disorder, Schizophrenia. In spite of responding well to the treatment at the beginning, the dearth of emotional support and then a murderous attack by her son’s friend, to apparently occupy her only asset, her house had reverted all the progress she had made earlier.

Roohi BanoIn the middle of her treatment, no one, besides her sister was allowed to see her. The actress had hallucinations of her deceased son paying visits. After the death of her doctor, Haroon Rasheed, her treatment got discontinued because of her worsening financial conditions.

Bano started off as an actor while she was pursuing her MSc degree for Psychology in the Government College, Lahore. She went on to garner extraordinary fame for her commendable acting skills in dramas like Zard Gulab, Qila Khani, Hairatkada amongst others. The luvvie also acted in two movies and is known as one of the most outstanding actresses Pakistan has ever produced.

May the deceased get rewarded with a place in heaven.

Recently the prima donna has taken to Instagram to express her love for helpless animals, shedding light on the animals she has rescued on various instances. Recalling her experience of saving a kitten at the age of six, she writes, “I had rescued my first injured animal at the age of six perhaps. A little kitten from the street across the road from our house. That’s how it all began.”

She goes on to reminisce about saving an injured cow, followed by injured Kite and pup, a limping dog and a visually impaired kitten. She has also adopted lambs, rabbits, ducklings, hens, a partridge, turtles, and some geese.

She continues, “By the time I turned 9, our backyard was a mini zoo. And we were proud of it. A little corner for the blind, injured and hurt. Another for the ones recuperating. The rest were allowed to roam free. They dirtied the placed, they made it smell funny but they gave me so so so much joy. And my Mom let me keep each of them. For which I will forever be grateful.”

She also reveals that her admiration for nature and travel has come from her father but she has inherited animal-loving from her mother. Talking about how her mother loves pets more than her own self, she emphasizes, “She carries Suri around to places like she would her own child. When I was unsure about keeping another rescue Pixie many years later, my mom was the one who convinced me to give that dog our home.”

She shares that every animal she kept as a pet has brought her “joy, luck, immense love and pain.” She remembers her friend, Faisal Baig, consoling her after the death of her dog Mika.” She explains, when she asked her friend about whether she will ever be able to meet Mika, he said, “God loves you, and when those who love Him ask him for something, God always comes through, so if that’s what you want, you will see him again.”

In the closing paragraph, she urges all her fans to stay nice to animals, undermine hunting, discourage animal circuses, riding animals for mere fun and water shows amongst others. She ends her heartfelt note by expressing gratitude to her mother, “Thank you Ma, for leading by example.”

I had rescued my first injured animal at the age of six perhaps. A little kitten from the street across the road from our house. That’s how it all began. Soon after there was an injured baby crow, fallen from a tree. An injured Kite. An injured pup. I always wanted to adopt the dog no one wanted from the litter because of it’s limp, or the kitten that couldn’t see. All this was also followed by bringing in unhurt but very cute lambs, rabbits, ducklings, hens, a partridge, turtles and some geese. By the time I turned 9, our backyard was a mini zoo. And we were proud of it. A little corner for the blind, injured and hurt. Another for the ones recuperating. The rest were allowed to roam free. They dirtied the placed, they made it smell funny but they gave me so so so much joy. And my Mom let me keep each of them. For which I will forever be grateful. I often talk about how my love for nature, travel etc has been inherited from my dad. But my love for animals comes from my mom. Even today, she carries Suri around to places like she would her own child. When I was unsure about keeping another rescue Pixie many years later, my mom was the one who convinced me to give that dog our home. She secretly loved/loves them all more than I do but has someone to blame when they tire her out. Animals have brought us joy, luck, immense love and pain. When my dog Mika passed away, I couldn’t sleep for nights but my dearest friend Faisal Baig consoled me with words even he may have forgotten himself. But they remain with me even today. I asked him if I’d ever be reunited with my dog again, even if religion doesn’t specially say much on the matter. He replied with a gentle ‘God loves you, and when those who love Him ask him for something, God always comes through, so if that’s what you want, you will see him again’ I urge each of you to be nice to all animals, discourage hunting, encourage humane slaughter ( this one’s debatable), avoid animal circuses, riding elephants for fun, water shows etc and donate as much as you can to the @acfanimalrescueofficial foundation for them to continue the amazing work they do! Thank you Ma, for leading by example.

‘Beti’, All Set To Shed Light On An Important Social Issue

Since the old ages, this myth has prevailed in our society, that the daughters are considered to be a sign of bad omen. Though our religion completely refutes this notion and provides equal rights to them. ‘Beti’ is an amazing story of a daughter who faces this challenge as she gets married in a family where baby girls are not welcomed. Her husband’s grandmother is very aversive about the birth of a baby girl. Maryam now defends herself and her baby against all odds.
